    Home Orthopedic Rehabilitation

    Home Orthopedic Rehabilitation is suitable to anyone who has undergone damage to bone as a result of a fall or another injury, damage to a joint, is post-surgery or for any other reason requiring joint replacement, with the most common being the hip joint. Surgery for joint replacement can also be for the knee or shoulder. The purpose of home rehabilitation is to return to independence with respect to movement and mobility following the damage or surgery.


    Who is Home Orthopedic Rehabilitation suitable for?

    Followng trauma caused by falling from a height

    Following limb amputation

    Following a serious fracture

    Following knee replacement

    Following hip replacement surgery

    In cases of severe burns


    How can the Home Orthopedic Rehabilitation service be obtained?

    • If you are about to have surgery you can contact us by telephone on *2590, to obtain information and advice regarding your rights
    • If you are about to be discharged from hospital, you must check whether “referred to continued institutional rehabilitation” or “referred to continued intensive home rehabilitation” is written on the discharge letter
    • Prior to being discharged from the department, you must contact a HMO representative at the hospital and ask for the Sabar Health Home Orthopedic Rehabilitation service
    • Upon receiveing the HMO authorisation and acceptance of the patient to this program, the sequence of treatment is fully preserved with the HMO for the entire duration of rehabilitation until it is complete
    • The service can be provided financed by the HMOs for those insured by the HMOs with the agreement. Patients who are not covered by the agreement can obtain the service privately.
